Through five proposed themes: (1) Fundamental Concepts and Methods, (2) Transportation, (3) Robotics, (4) Healthcare, and (5) Socio-Technical Systems, the editors address the power of the emerging disciplines of CPHS and cyber-physical systems (CPS) to establish humans as an active component during cyber and physical interactions. The book presents a unified message through an appropriate level of coherence, uniformity, and connections across chapters. This allows the book to adhere to the intersection represented by CPHS requiring both CPS and social-behavioral underpinnings.
