With particular focus on Customer and Strategy Analytics, Operations Analytics and Human Resources Analytics, it demonstrates the application of data analytics in any organizational situation where the proper use of data is critical. It aims to help build a bridge between data scientists, who have less if not zero exposure to actual business issues, and staff at all levels who do not remember much of the data analytics concepts and methods taught in school. It will also help give confidence to the non-data scientist staff so that they can perform simple to medium complex data analytics tasks from translating a business question into a data science hypothesis to understanding the data science results and making the appropriate decision. The book describes in detail all the necessary steps from acquisition, cleaning, transformation to analysis and decision making, and highlights the pitfalls of unsound decision-making as a result of failing to handle data in the most methodical way possible. The cases discussed in the chapters will cover different data analytics situations in any domain of the value chain of an organization, namely the Customer Domain, Process Domain and the Workforce Domain.
