The textbook book will contain five major chapters: An introduction to ceramic membranes, a concise treatment of the fundamentals of membrane separation, an overview of ceramic membrane characterization techniques, industrial applications, and economics. Each chapter will end with qualitative and quantitative exercises, as well as ca. 150 literature references. The adjacent website, www.membranebook.org, will feature solutions to selected exercises, as well as PowerPoint slides of all of the figures and schemes in each chapter, and a full list of all references from the book complete with their DOIs. Considering that membrane processes are usually taught in courses either at the end of the undergraduate degree or in the graduate studies, the book will be aimed at both senior undergraduates and graduate researchers.
