The book presents new solutions of power electronic converters/inverters for various applications, particularly for the renewable energy conversion but also for applications in energy consumption. In the last 10 years a new generation of power converter topologies have appeared, i.e., impedance sourced converters/inverters, which have more functionalities to meet the demand of future power electronic converters. The following aspects will be discussed: topologies and modifications of Impedance Source Converters/Inverters compared to classical voltage source converters; control strategies for different types of Impedance Source Converters/Inverters; modelling, design, and analysis of discussed topologies and applications to renewable energy conversion systems, particularly in Photovoltaic (PV) and wind power systems, and electric vehicles. The book will have the following specific objectives: To point out the newest approach of the single stage buck/boost power conversion systems. To present the latest power conversion solutions that aim to advance the role of power electronics into industries and sustainable energy conversion systems. To enhance the knowledge on power converters, renewable energy power generation, and their integrated controls and uses. To explore new areas for further research needed worldwide. To define existing challenges and key technologies with the use of impedance source converters/inverters and to suggest solutions and directions for further researches and applications. Ultimately, the book will lead to the advancement of the current state-of-the art developments and applications of the single stage buck/boost power electronic converters/inverters and particularly impedance source power converters/inverters. It will generate awareness of emerging technology in the area of power electronics and will provide rich experiences to the various industries and academia about advanced electric energy conversion technologies. This book will be an effective guide to the researchers, senior undergraduate & graduate students and professional engineers investigating the vital topics related to the impedance source converters/inverters.
