India is grappling with a wide range of risks-HIV/AIDS, maternal mortality, nuclear power, GM crops, and natural disasters. For the first time, Indian and Western practitioners and scholars from fields as diverse as psychology, science, and architecture examine the realities of risk in India. Challenging many of the dominant perspectives and approaches to risk, this volume proposes that policymakers adopt a more multidimensional framework for analysing and governing risks in India.
