图书简介
Introduction to Sonar Transducer Design provides the beginning and experienced professional transducer designer with a comprehensive overview of the elements that go into sonar transducer design and includes a detailed mathematical review and design examples. It begins with a description of acoustic wave propagation and then reviews radiation from a variety of sources. Equivalent circuit models are provided to explain wave propagation in solids and liquids. Examples of projectors and hydrophones are reviewed along with complete mathematical solutions. To aid the reader the mathematics is developed from first principles to a final solution in a step-by-step approach. This provides a professional in this field with the analytical tools and assumptions required for transducer design. Chapters lead the reader from the outside underwater environment (Chapter 1) to the inside of the spring/mass mechanical systems that make up a transducer (Chapter 2) before describing acoustic waves in solids and piezo-ceramic materials (Chapter 3). Chapter 4 pulls the three previous chapters together and addresses Sonar Projectors and Chapter 5 provides design guidance for Sonar Hydrophones. The book concludes with a useful summary of vector notation and material properties.
