图书简介
This book honours the memory of Martin Fleischmann, by presenting the state of electrochemistry and related topics in 2013 and highlights its potential with recent examples of its applications. Martin Fleischmann is most widely known through his involvement in Cold Fusion, but he also had a huge influence on, and can be considered one of the fathers of, modern electrochemistry. During a 60 year career he contributed greatly to a number of topics including Laboratory Instrumentation; Electrochemical Phase Deposition - Nucleation and Growth; Electrolysis Cell Design and Electrochemical Engineering; Applications of Electrochemistry; Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy; In Situ x-ray Techniques; The Theory of Electrochemical Techniques and Ultramicroelectrodes. The 19 chapters within this volume each begin with an outline of Martin Fleischmanns contribution to the topic, followed by examples of research and established applications that define the state of electrochemistry and related subjects today such as SERS, in-situ scanning probe microscopies and tribocorrosion, as well as presenting the prospects for future developments. The primary value of the book will be its presentation of modern electrochemistry as a subject of great importance to academic research and technological developments today. The Editors and Contributors are all scientists with outstanding international reputations who have made their own contribution to their topic; most have also worked with Martin Fleischmann in the past.
